In Australia, state or territory government agencies are responsible for enforcing and interpreting the Code. In New Zealand this is the responsibility of the Ministry for Primary Industries, public health units or local governments. Legal requirements may also change, for example, as government regulations are made or changed and as courts determine cases on food law in Australia and New Zealand.
