The responsibility certificate granted by EU Certification is a recognition issued to a company that shows its customers that the company has taken care of its regulatory obligations appropriately.

A company that has been granted a responsibility certificate has delivered notifications to authorities on time, paid the related fees, and has a valid business ID.

Strengthens the company’s public image:

It is often difficult and time-consuming for a customer to investigate a company’s background when making a purchase decision. Certification by an independent outside organisation shows customers and cooperation partners that a company is a responsible operator with whom it is safe to form a long-term cooperation relationship.

Social responsibility:

The responsibility certificate also shows that the company is taking care of its responsibilities towards society, and strengthens the company’s good will value among all interest groups.

Annual agreement:

The certificate granted to the company is valid for 12 months from the date of issue, provided no factors that would reduce the company’s rating are found during regular audits.

Banner:

Companies can add a banner to their website that shows the certificate and the year it was issued.

Food safety in the EU:

Ensuring safe food from farm to fork

Health protection is the aim of all EU laws and standards in the agriculture, animal husbandry and food production sectors. An extensive body of EU-wide law covers the entire food production and processing chain within the EU, as well as imported and exported goods.

EU countries implement these harmonized standards and establish controls to enforce them. The EU audits the application and effectiveness of the laws and controls, and also provides training to the responsible EU and international authorities.

EU Food Safety Policy and action is concentrated in 4 main areas of protection:

  • Food hygiene: food businesses, from farms to restaurants, must comply with EU food law, including those importing food to the EU.
  • Animal health: sanitary controls and measures for pets, farmed animals and wildlife monitor and manage diseases, and trace the movement of all farm animals.
  • Plant health: detection and eradication of pests at an early stage prevents spreading and ensures healthy seeds.
  • Contaminants and residues: monitoring keeps contaminants away from food and animal feed. Maximum acceptable limits apply to domestic and imported food and feed products.

Labelling and nutrition:

Food law establishes the rights of consumers to safe food and to accurate and honest information.

In the European Union, the labelling rules enable the citizens to get comprehensive information about the content and composition of food products. Labelling helps consumers to make an informed choice while purchasing their foodstuffs. To know more about Labelling Requirements refer following attachments.
